Gearing up for Summer Reading.........

Librarian Brenda has been super busy the last few weeks putting the finishing touches on the 2008 Summer Reading Program. The children’s program theme is “Get the Reading Bug” and the young adult theme is “Metamorphosis.” We can’t wait to get our arms around these programs and so far we have lined up a bunch of fun and interesting activities. We also made some great partnerships here in the community to help support our efforts.

The IRS and YOU>>>>>>>>>>

A lot of folks have been stopping in asking for the forms they need to get their rebate due to be released with the Economic Stimulus Act. Be aware that in order to be eligible for this rebate you must file a 2007 tax return. You will automatically be eligible when you file your tax return. If you do not ordinarily file a return, you must this year to be eligible for the rebate.

The library has all the state and federal forms. The state forms are free. The federal forms a $.25 a page. The Librarians cannot help you with your return. We will be happy to download and print forms for you but we cannot assist you in tax preparation.

What's more fun than..................

What’s more fun than a cookout? A cookout that helps support the Summer Reading Program, of course!! The Library Staff will be hosting a cookout on Friday April 4th at the Main Fire House starting at 11:00 AM. We will be offering your choice of two hotdogs or a hamburger/cheeseburger with slaw, baked beans and a dessert. The tickets are $5.00 a piece and are available at the library. We are offering take-out or eat in. We also will deliver for orders of three plates or more.

Food and fun - that's what the LCPL is about!!!

Need help? Don't Wait.............

The Library Staff has been sooo busy this week with plenty of new challenges!!! Also a reminder as the school year winds down: if you need homework help please come to the library with enough time to complete your assignments. The librarians cannot help you out if you arrive at the Library at 5:00PM the day before the assignment is due. So help us help you and start your assignments early.
